Crack location • structural condition • repair suitability
A cracked alloy needs more than a quick weld. The surrounding wheel, tyre and cause of impact must be considered before repair.

Before booking: send the inner rim, outer face, damage and vehicle location.

The position and direction of a crack affect repairability. A single inner-rim crack can present a different risk from damage extending into a spoke, hub area or previous repair.
Impact can also distort the rim, damage the bead seat and pinch the tyre sidewall. Photographs help screen the job, but physical inspection controls the final decision.

REAL REPAIR FACTORS
Inner barrel, outer lip, spoke and mounting areas are not equivalent.
Long or branching damage can indicate wider structural stress.
Several cracks may make replacement more appropriate.
Old repairs should be declared and inspected.
A wheel can be cracked and bent at the same time.
Pothole impact may also damage the tyre and suspension.

SERVICE STANDARDS
We assess the crack position, previous repairs, wheel distortion and any related tyre damage before recommending a repair. A visible crack does not automatically mean the wheel is safe or suitable to weld.
